The following is the history of Orangefoot told by Jeremy's perspective.

Written during the summer of 06'

Well, as you may be aware, Brian and I have been best friends ever since elementary school.

We've been through a bunch of things together, and I'm sure more adventures await us. At the end of middleschool, Brian introduced me to the godly program known as Flash MX. We have self taught ourselves all of the way, and now two years later, we're quite comfortable with it. This is where Orangefoot actually spawned - from friendship and Flash.

As our popularity on Newgrounds.com grew, we decided it was time to create a homebase, a headquarters, a website. We talked it over with my dad, who got us set up in no time (the official date of purchase was December 7th, 2005). Next came the domain name. If you're wondering where the hell "Orangefoot" came from, here's your answer. "Orangefoot" is a merging of our Newgrounds aliases. We took the "Orange" from "OrangeOwnage" (Brian's old alias) and the "foot" from "Bigfoot3290" and fused 'em together. We think it sounds great, not to mention unique.

After we agreed upon a domain name, we were left staring at a big, blank screen - a newly born website. Oh, how adorable it was. Its screen was as smooth as a baby's bottom. Well, at the time, neither of us had worked with HTML in a while. Brian's knowledge of it was far more complete than mine, so he began the coding. During this time, I couldn't do much. I'd often watch Brian slaving away over a hot notepad. I could sense his frustration when things didn't work out, but again, there wasn't much I could do.

A couple days past, and Brian had set up our very first frontpage layout. There was a tiny update box in the top right, a comic smack in the middle, and a skimpy navigation on the side. Nevertheless, we were proud of it. From there, we continued to add on sections, remove sections, and make a whole lot of changes. The Orangefoot logo itself was altered about three times in a matter of a week or less, and will undoubtably experience revisions in the future.

After the frontpage was up and running, it was time to make the flash page. Our flashes were (after all) our biggest claim to "fame", so we knew we had to get it up A.S.A.P. It began with Brian's "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" and my Super Mario Land Series. Ever since, we've been uploading our Newgrounds releases onto Orangefoot with improvements such as audio optimization. Chances are, it will always be our most popular section, so if you're new to the site, check it out.

As the Flash section was created, Brian and I agreed that a comic section would fit in nicely. It was certainly a nice change of pace - a comic could take an hour or so to make, while an entire flash animation could take weeks. So, expect that page to fill up rapidly.

More recently, Brian has met a guy by the name of Numeric, who is extremely knowledgable in HTML. He has agreed to help us out with the coding, and so far, he has done a spectacular job. He has fixed that terribly annoying bug that deformed Orangefoot on Internet Explorer, which held us back from a bunch of oppertunities. With him aboard, Orangefoot is bound for great things. The new Junkyard section is coming along nicely, and we plan to incorporate new features such as music, articles, and maybe even a forum as the viewers come in larger numbers.

As I finish writing this, Orangefoot has grown out of its diaper, its pacifier, its Gerber baby food. It has gone through all of those tedious steps of "getting started". It can freakin' walk now, and only time will tell where those legs will take it.
